The Academic Support Center (ASC), located on the second floor of the Emmanuel d’Alzon Library, is committed to assisting students to reach their academic potential. The ASC is designed to enrich the academic and learning skills of Assumption University students through the utilization of on-ground peer tutors and professional staff. There is no charge for peer tutoring as it is included in your tuition.

The ASC is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) and is an active member of the New England Peer Tutor Association (NEPTA).

Academic advisors are committed to forming a strong, individual relationship between advisor and advisee that aligns with this mission. All students are advised by informed, experienced, full-time teaching faculty committed to helping you chart your journey at each stage of your experience.

    Year-by-Year

    • First year: Assumption matches each student with an advisor based on academic interests and goals. Those advisors aid in the transition to university-level academics and guide students to resources on campus, including the University’s online advising and registration system, WebAdvisor.
    • Second year: Advisors focus on supporting students as they choose among our 40 majors.
    • Junior year: There are exciting opportunities such as study abroad or internships in addition to course selection and career discussions.
    • Senior year: Advisors support advisees as they apply to graduate school and post-baccalaureate scholarships or move into the professional world.

     

  • Assumption University is committed to providing appropriate assistance to students with learning disabilities, ADHD/ADD, chronic medical conditions, physical disabilities, or psychiatric disabilities who can effectively function in our academic and residential environment.
