“This opportunity was a unique departure from my conventional college experiences. Instead of traditional classrooms, our lessons took place in historic sites-ranging from renowned museums and art galleries to majestic churches. Rome is Your Classroom
In Rome, your education is not confined to the words of a textbook; it’s an immersive journey where learning comes alive with every excursion, meal, and conversation. Here, you don’t just learn about ancient architecture and timeless pieces of art, you experience them every day in person, unlocking new connections to the world and creating memories at the same time. Your courses will lay the foundation, but simply being present in Rome is an educational journey like no other.
Eye Opening Excursions
Spend your free time traveling around Italy and Europe alongside friends and faculty. Each semester, students take at least two group excursions to exciting Italian cities outside of Rome and many more on their own or in smaller groups.
Live in an Authentic Roman Neighborhood
Villino Dufault—Assumption’s Rome campus—is located within a traditional residential neighborhood in the center of Rome, with shopping, public transportation free of charge for AU Rome campus students, and exciting experiences all nearby.
Students live in comfortable residential experiences with double rooms and private baths shared by every two rooms. You’ll enjoy well-appointed shared spaces for your needs and on-site laundry facilities.
Home stays with nearby Roman families are possible, allowing for total immersion in Italian life for students with more advanced Italian language skills.
Culinary Exploration
Enjoy authentic Italian meals prepared by a traditional Roman chef and served family style in our dining room in Villino Dufault, or indulge in the culinary paradise found on the streets of Rome.
Either way, be prepared to learn why Roman cuisine is one of the city’s finest works of art. Buon appetito!
The Intersection of Ancient History and Contemporary Culture
