U.S. News & World Report Recognizes Assumption as a 2021 Best College
Assumption University has been recognized for its academic excellence by U.S. News & World Report in its recently released 2021 Best Colleges rankings. Assumption was acknowledged as a top institution in the North region; a top college for Best Undergraduate Teaching; a Best Value School; and a top performer on social mobility, the organization’s recognition for an institution’s ability and commitment to serve low-income students.
“The Assumption University community is happy to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top institutions in the region,” said President Francesco C. Cesareo, Ph.D. “Recognition in categories such as value, teaching, and social mobility affirm the University’s commitment to imparting upon students a meaningful liberal arts education, one that is transformative of the whole person; one that teaches individuals to think critically and live ethical lives of meaning and purpose, qualities that are much needed to address current and future challenges impacting society.”
This ranking follows Assumption’s recent announcement of the naming of the D’Amour College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the University’s largest of its five schools that were developed as the institution restructured to better reflect its offerings and transition to University status, which was formally (and virtually) celebrated earlier this month. The D’Amour College of Liberal Arts and Sciences—named in honor of Donald AP ’60, AU’64, HD’10 and Michele HD’10 D’Amour, former Board of Trustees members and longtime supporters of the University—provides students with the foundation of a strong liberal arts education, despite their individual major, as part of Assumption’s Core curriculum. Assumption’s other schools include the Grenon School of Business, Froelich School of Nursing, School of Health Professions, and School of Graduate Studies.
Last month, Assumption was recognized included in The Princeton Review’s “Best 386 Colleges” for 2021.
