Expanded Academic Opportunities for Students
University status reflects the evolution and growth of Assumption, with expanded graduate and continuing education degree programs, the addition of our campus in Rome, Italy, and the significant broadening of our academic catalog. Recently launched undergraduate programs include cybersecurity, neuroscience, and nursing.
Dual degree programs, some offering an accelerated path, provide opportunities for academically motivated students to seamlessly transition from their undergraduate program into one of Assumption’s graduate programs.
Investing in Innovation—In and Out of the Classroom
Visitors to our campus are sure to notice the monumental changes taking place at Assumption. Two brand-new, state-of-the-art academic buildings have transformed not only the landscape but also the learning environment for students. Inside those buildings—the Tsotsis Family Academic Center, which opened in Fall 2017, and the Health Sciences building opening in Fall 2020—are high-tech classrooms, skills and simulation labs for our nursing and physician assistant programs, seminar rooms, study spaces, and a 400-seat performance hall.
Innovative partnerships, such as one with the Worcester Red Sox, provide students exciting opportunities for internships and community engagement.

Restructuring into Five Schools
A component of our transition to university status is Assumption’s reorganization into five Schools: College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Grenon School of Business, School of Nursing, School of Health Professions, School of Graduate Studies. This evolution fosters greater curriculum innovation, creativity, and flexibility—inspiring continual optimization of student educational outcomes as the market dynamics of a given discipline evolve. Students across each School will continue to receive our liberal arts core curriculum, the unifying and mission-aligning heart of learning at Assumption.

D’Amour College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Discover your innate gifts and awaken a sense of wonder and purpose. Deepen the reading, writing, and communication skills necessary for leadership in a meaningful and rewarding career. Choose from 26 majors, ranging from our innovative new offerings in cybersecurity, neuroscience, and communication and media, to traditional arts, humanities, and social sciences such as graphic design, philosophy, criminology, and psychology. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art computer and research facilities, quiet nooks for reading and contemplation, caring professors to help you reach your full potential, and numerous local opportunities for internships and service learning. Grenon School of Business
Intern for Fidelity, Deloitte, or the Worcester Red Sox. Develop a marketing plan for a start-up. Help an entrepreneur bring a product to market. Experience our Lagarce Trading Room equipped with interactive Bloomberg terminals. Combine theory with practice, and put your studies to work. Grenon School of Business undergraduates and MBAs are in high demand locally and globally for their strong management capabilities, entrepreneurial spirit, strategic outlook, and commitment to ethical leadership.
Froelich School of Nursing
In the spirit of compassion and integrity that our program was founded upon, prepare to become a professional nurse who cares for, serves, and promotes the health of individuals, families, and communities; a nurse who treats the whole person, not just the illness. Our students gain clinical experience across various specialties and with diverse patient populations, enabling them to become nurse generalists capable of addressing the physical, social, psychological, and spiritual determinants of health outcomes. A nurse educated at Assumption promotes human agency, advocates for those who cannot do so for themselves, and develops the clinical judgment necessary to work in today’s dynamic healthcare system.
School of Health Professions
Our range of majors includes human services and rehabilitation studies, health sciences, and physician assistant studies. Prepare for medical school, dental school, graduate programs in physician assistant studies, counseling psychology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, rehabilitation counseling, school counseling, school psychology, child life, special education, social work, and speech-language pathology. Some students pursue careers in healthcare administration or policy. Internships are a core component of our programs, enabling you to build experience and professional relationships in your chosen healthcare field. Classrooms in our new 41,000-square-foot Health Sciences building offer the newest technology, simulation, and problem-based learning opportunities.
School of Graduate Studies
We offer a wide range of graduate and adult learning programs in the areas of human services and the helping professions—integrating theory, research, and practice. All programs of study include a practicum or internship, allowing you to grow professionally in real-world settings. Preparation for licensure or certification is integral to our programs. Our graduates are highly sought-after professionals known for their rigorous academic preparation, adherence to high ethical standards, compassionate care, and strong work ethic. They serve a broad range of individuals with intellectual, emotional, psychological, and physical needs in a variety of settings—and find great satisfaction in knowing they are making a difference in others’ lives.
