CDIC Hosts Spring Career and Internship Fair

Assumption’s Career Development and Internship Center held their annual Spring Career and Internship Fair on Thursday, February 13 in the Tsotsis Family Academic Center. Fifty companies and organizations attended the fair, giving students opportunities to speak with professionals in a variety of different career disciplines.
“Career Fairs serve as an important opportunity to connect employers and students in person beyond just a written application,” said Shannon Curtis, Senior Director for Career Development and Strategic Initiatives.. “The career fair offers students the opportunity to learn more about internships and job opportunities, gain valuable information about the job market, a chance to explore potential career paths, and discover how their Assumption liberal arts degree transfers to a variety of career fields.”
Employers, along with students, reap great benefits from the annual Career and Internship Fair, as they can meet with talented Assumption students whose skills are rooted with a foundation in the liberal arts.
“The fair allows employers to meet, get to know, and evaluate potential candidates for their positions, build their brand on campus, and engage with students across all majors early on to build a strong hiring pipeline,” said Curtis.
Jesse Shearer, campus recruiter at Withum, said that partnering with Assumption aligns with the national top-ranking public accounting firm’s core values. “Withum’s unique philosophy and culture, built on integrity, trust and transparency, give us the power to create immense opportunities for our clients, team members and communities.”
Shearer noted that the firm is a regular participant in Assumption’s career fairs, and held a dedicated ice cream social for students this fall. “We are always looking for talented students who are interested in or pursuing the CPA track in Massachusetts and Rhode Island – and offer great resources and bonuses to complete the CPA and make it easy to advance in your career.” Internships are offered in both the spring and summer, as well as full-time opportunities that start in November.
