Assumption University is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Gillooly has been appointed Vice President for University Advancement. Gillooly will officially join the University community as a member of the President’s Cabinet and leader of the Office of University Advancement in early March.

“Jeff’s career reflects a profound commitment to higher education, a belief in the transformative impact of philanthropy, and a deep appreciation for the power of a Catholic liberal education,” said Assumption University President Greg Weiner. “His ability to build strong relationships with donors and institutional partners will be invaluable as we advance the goals of Thrive, our ten-year strategic plan. With Jeff’s leadership, we will continue to strengthen our culture of giving, ensuring that more students have access to the formative education that Assumption provides.”

Gillooly will join Assumption from the University of Massachusetts Amherst Foundation, where he serves as Chief of Staff and Senior Executive Director for Board Relations and Volunteer Engagement. In this role, he has been instrumental in developing the Foundation’s strategic plan and leading key initiatives for UMass’s $600 million comprehensive campaign.

Prior to that role, Gillooly served for seven years as Vice President for University Advancement at Clark University, where he successfully led Campaign Clark, raising more than $156 million—funding scholarships, faculty support, and new university initiatives. His career also includes leadership roles at the University of Rochester and Roger Williams University. Gillooly received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Dartmouth College and a Master of Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University.

“I am thrilled to join Assumption University at this exciting moment in its history,” said Gillooly. “President Weiner has laid out a bold vision for Assumption’s future, a vision that will educate the students who will be our next generation of leaders.  I am honored to have the opportunity to support this vision, leading an Advancement program ready to engage with our entire community: alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends.  I look forward to working together to make this bold vision a reality.”
