Pre-Vet

Veterinarians provide both preventative and emergency care—ensuring that our feathered, furred and scaled friends are healthy, happy and well-cared for—and to do that, they need a broad education and variety of skills.

A career as a veterinarian is a great choice for someone who has a passion for caring for animals. Vets provide both preventative and emergency care—ensuring that our feathered, furred and scaled friends are healthy, happy and well-cared for—and to do that they need a broad education and variety of skills.  Becoming a veterinarian requires a strong academic background in math, research and the sciences, as well as good communications and interpersonal skills. Students looking for pre-vet studies will find the Pre-Clinical Health Science major fulfills the requirements for admission to veterinary or professional school.

Academic rigor and practical experience provide Assumption students with noteworthy achievements in pre-vet studies and more for their graduate school applications.
