IT & Media Services: Your Technology Partner

  • When you call the Helpdesk, every effort is made to assist you while you are on the line. If we can’t resolve the issue immediately, we will create a “ticket.” The “ticket” is then directed to the appropriate member of the IT professional staff, who will contact you in regards to the next steps. This process helps us to provide consistent support and to measure and track technical support issues.

    Hours of Operation

The Helpdesk is open seven days per week when classes are in session. Hours are subject to change for periods in which the campus is not open, either for a scheduled closure, inclement weather, or other circumstances.

The Helpdesk can be reached by dialing extension 7060 from a campus phone line or 508-767-7060. If you have a computer issue outside the Helpdesk hours, please leave us a message. You will receive a response to your question as soon as possible when the Helpdesk reopens.

  • The Information Security Office works with the Assumption campus community to secure system and network resources and protect the confidentiality of student, faculty and staff information.

    Our goals are to:

    • Empower students, faculty and staff to make good information security decisions through outreach and training
    • Provide a secure technology infrastructure
    • Implement best-practice policies, standards, and procedures to mitigate risk to the University and individual members of the campus community
  • The hub for all campus information is the Campus Portal (“myportal.assumption.edu”). The Portal can be accessed both on and off campus. Your portal login username and password is the same as your Houndmail username and password.

The Portal provides a wealth of information such as campus events, campus news, class registration information and much more.

  • The campus webmail is accessed at houndmail.assumption.edu and can be accessed both on campus and off campus. Your houndmail login is your email username followed by your email password.

Please remember that the University will never ask you for your private password. Malicious emails known as “phishing” emails may resemble emails that you might expect from the Information Technology and Media Services Department. If you receive a suspicious email, do not hesitate to double-check check with us at helpdesk@assumption.edu or 508-767-7060.

  • The Assumption University Information Technology and Media Services Department provides access to the CDW-G and Apple online computer stores, which offer the opportunity to purchase computers with an education discount. Reduced prices are also available for software through a third party vendor. Please use the links below to access the stores directly and take advantage of these Assumption-negotiated discounts.

    * Due to the nature of software distribution, refunds are not available from our software store.

If you have any questions about buying computers or software, please contact the Assumption University Help Desk at 508-767-7060. The Help Desk will answer your questions or put you in contact with store support as needed.
