Dr. Susan M. Scully has worked at Assumption University for 25 years and has served as the administrator/director of numerous programs. She has been the Chair of the Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies Department, has directed the Rehabilitation Counseling Program, and is now the director of the School Counseling Programs. She has been instrumental in responding to the trends and changes in the Human Service and Counseling fields by developing new programs and updating existing ones at Assumption University.
She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling all from Michigan State University. She is a proud Spartan! Dr. Scully’s research was in the area of workplace disability and injury and the Rehabilitation Counselor’s role in the return to work of employees with disability and chronic illness. She has worked as a counselor with high school-aged youth with disabilities as well as working with adults with substance use issues and visual impairments. She teaches in the area of counseling skill development, case management, and the psychological and social issues related to the experience of disability and illness. Dr. Scully is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and a Human Services-Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP).
