Maria D. Kalpidou, Ph.D

Dr. Kalpidou is a developmental psychologist whose work centers on fostering the well-being of children, adolescents, and young adults. Her research explores a wide range of topics, including infant imitation, the effects of postpartum depression on development, attachment, sensory processing, comfort objects, and imaginary companions. She is particularly interested in how childhood adversity, social media, and character strengths influence the well-being of young adults. Dr. Kalpidou’s primary goal is to develop evidence-based strategies to help parents raise happy and successful children and adolescents.
