Assumption University Names Marisa Gregg Chief Marketing and Communications Officer

Assumption University is pleased to announce that Marisa Gregg has been appointed Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. Gregg will officially join the University community as a member of the President’s Cabinet and leader of the Office of Integrated Marketing on July 29.

“It is a privilege to welcome Marisa Gregg to the Assumption community and our senior leadership team,” said Assumption University President Greg Weiner. “Her own education, as well as her experience leading marketing and communications at the College of the Holy Cross, reflect a deep commitment to Catholic liberal education. I look forward to Marisa helping us share the intrinsic worth and practical value of Assumption’s distinctive educational mission.”

Gregg joins Assumption from Nectar.Inc, where she has served as Vice President of Marketing since January 2023. Previously, Gregg spent eight years in various marketing and communications roles at the College of the Holy Cross, including as Vice President for Communications and Marketing from 2019-2022. In this role, Gregg led strategic marketing and communications efforts including a brand redesign and all communications in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before Holy Cross, Gregg spent over 10 years in brand development at The Boston Beer Company, leading brands such as Samuel Adams, Twisted Tea, and Angry Orchard Hard Cider.

With over twenty years of experience, Gregg’s strengths lie in multiple areas of communications and marketing, including brand storytelling and promotion and both external and internal communications strategy. Gregg received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame, and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

“I am honored to join the Assumption community and contribute to the realization of President Weiner’s bold vision for the university,” said Gregg. “This institution has a rich history of academic excellence and a deep commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive community. I am excited to work with the talented faculty, staff, students, and alumni to share the remarkable stories that define Assumption. Together, we will continue to build on our strong foundation and elevate the university’s voice and impact.”
