Assumption Ranked in Top 25 Best Online Colleges in Massachusetts
BestColleges.com has recognized Assumption among the top educational institutions in Massachusetts for online programming, according to their recently released Best Online Colleges in Massachusetts rankings. Assumption is the top institution in Worcester and 17th-best in the state. Assumption was highly ranked for its strong online education programs, which include business, humanities, human services and rehabilitation studies, social sciences, and a number of other certificate programs.
According to BestColleges.com, in order for an institution to qualify for consideration as a top 25 online college, each college and university had to meet the requirements generated by the ranking organization. These include accreditation as a public or private, not-for-profit institution; offer at least 10 online bachelor’s degree programs; three online master’s degree programs; and at least six online associate degree programs. The Best Colleges rankings are based on a 100-point scale of three factors: academic quality (50), affordability (25), and online programming (25).
BestColleges.com said that its goal is “to objectively assess relative quality based on academic outcomes, affordability, and the breadth and depth of online learning opportunities.”
