Lieutenant Colonel Lawrence Wentzell: “The Value of a Liberal Arts Education in Military Service”

Join Lieutenant Colonel Lawrence Wentzell, Director of Operations for United States Cyber Command’s Joint Mission Operations Center, for his lecture, “The Value of a Liberal Arts Education in Military Service,” where he will discuss his expertise in cybersecurity and how his liberal arts education prepared him for a successful career in the military.

 

About Lieutenant Colonel Lawrence Wentzell:

A Paxton native, Lieutenant Colonel Lawrence Wentzell serves as intelligence officer and cyberspace operations officer and has commanded units at the Platoon, Company, and Troop level. He is currently assigned to Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command at Fort George G. Meade in Maryland and was selected to establish the United States Marine Corps Cyberspace National Mission Team. He has been deployed multiple times to Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq with both Marine and Special Operations Forces.  

Lt. Col. Wentzell was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps upon graduation from Norwich University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He holds a master’s degree in national security studies with a concentration in terrorism from the Naval War College and serves on Assumption’s Cybersecurity Advisory Council.
