Inaugural Michael True Memorial Poetry Reading featuring acclaimed poet Bruce Smith

Bruce Smith is the author of seven books of poetry, most recently Spill (University of Chicago UP, 2018). His awards include the Poetry Society of America’s William Carlos Williams Award, for Devotions, which was also a finalist for the National Book Award; fellowships from the American Academy in Rome and the Guggenheim Foundation; grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Massachusetts Foundation for the Arts. Smith’s fourth collection, The Other Lover, was a finalist for both the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. Smith teaches in the MFA program at Syracuse University.
