10:00 PM - 11:30 PM

The Assumption University Medieval and Early Modern Studies Program (MEMS) presents a lecture on the Black American Enlightenment by Harvard University Junior Fellow, Dr. Keidrick Roy, on March 9th, at 5:00pm, Testa Fuller Auditorium, 006, Assumption University. Refreshments to follow.

For centuries, people have admired the Eighteenth Century Enlightenment as a movement devoted to reason, science, liberty, and progress. However, a much less studied group of African American women and men were thinking alongside and even within the broader Enlightenment movement to extend its premises and reshape its trajectory.
