Assumption Band Spring Concert
On April 28, 2019, the Assumption Band, conducted by Bruce Hopkins, will be playing their annual Spring Concert at 8:00 p.m. in the Curtis Performance Hall.
Featured will be the Assumption Flutes playing music from The Sound of Music and the Assumption Saxophone Ensemble playing the Theme from Peter Gunn. Also featured will be trombone soloist Lydia Mitchell (‘21) playing Ch’ella mi Creda of Puccini. Also included on the program will be Valdres – Hanssen, The Winged Stallion – Galante, Action Brass – Sadler, Festivo – Nelhybel, Appalachian Morning – Sheldon, Best of the West – Story and Encanto = Smith.
This concert will be dedicated to the memory of Professor Jeffrey Hunter (Business Studies), who was a member, playing tuba and sousaphone, of the Assumption Band for well over 30 years. He passed away earlier this year but had continued his membership in the Band even after his retirement from teaching at the College.
